The Little Book of Hygge

Denmark is often said to be the happiest country in the world. That’s down to one thing: hygge.

‘Hygge has been translated as everything from the art of creating intimacy to cosiness of the soul to taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things. My personal favourite is cocoa by candleligh.’You know hygge when you feel it.

Meik Wiking is the CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen.

The Little Book of Hygge is a small collection of everything that is right in the world.

Everything you need to know to about hygge and how to experience more in your life.

Aside from writing several books and reports on happiness, wellbeing and quality of life, I enjoy photography and playing tennis (quite badly) with a friend.

In a nutshell, hygge is a feeling of well-being that can be engendered by pleasant surroundings, tasty food, and good company.....or whatever else makes you feel safe and content.

I really enjoyed flipping through this book, there were lots of little illustrations, lists, stats, and even recipes. It was a quick and easy read and very repetitive when going over the core principles of hygge.
